When I was in college, I was not lucky enough to have a car.  Although all of my friends had one, and drove me around, I always felt a lack of personal freedom, not knowing if I will be able to make an appointment or even class on time.  It was a rough 4 years but luckily I made it through.

The day after graduation, my father helped me get my very first car.  It was 2001, the year everyone was driving the Mitsubishi Eclipse or Honda Accord.  When I went to the lot with my dad, I saw my car in the distance.  It was black and shiny and sporty looking…  I finally purchased my very first car, a black 2001 Mercury Cougar.  For the first time, I felt free.  That car was a true gem.  I drove it until 2010, and it only had 80,000 miles on it.

After 9 years with my faithful Black Cougar, it was once again time for a new car.  At that period in my life, I had also been planning on moving to Arizona so I was looking for a new car that was a bit bigger.  When I walked into the Ford Dealership, I knew I wanted that red 2010 Ford Escape.  It was perfect for me and my needs.

I negotiated with the sales guy, and we came to a close.. I even got to ding the bell and balloons fell on me.  I was excited, except for one problem; they were out of red on that lot.  I wanted my car NOW, not tomorrow or in a week… so what was I to do?  I simply could not wait.

They did, however, have the same vehicle in blue.  I looked at it, I thought about it, I wasn’t sure to be quite honest, but I just wanted my new car NOW..  So I went with the blue.  It looked great at first, but after my road trip and moving, my blue SUV made me feel like I was driving a giant blue boat.  It was the color, and simply the color that I just hated.  But I had no choice, my lack of patience got me stuck in that blue boat, and stuck for a long time.

After 5 years of that blue, I got to the point of embarrassment while driving the Escape.

Now, I don’t make a ton of money, so buying a new car was not even an option.  My payments are almost done and I can’t wait to be able to free up that $400 / month for something else.  Since I tend to complain about the color of my car quite often, my cousin told me about something that could help solve my problem.  Car Wrapping???  Never heard of it.

Anyways, to make a long story short, I called a company called AGD AutoGlass & Tint Co.  They are located in tempe, just a few miles from my house.  AGD was awesome right from the start.  They were upfront about pricing, and even cut me a deal.    They took my blue boat into the shop the very next day, and wrapped it with a 3M Color Changing Vehicle Wrap.  Guess what color I chose??  yep, RED!

I finally got my red SUV, the one I wanted 5 years.  If you find yourself in the same type of bind, or just hate the look or color of the car you seem to be stuck with, call AGD Auto Glass & Tint Co..  they will literally give your vehicle the makeover it deserves!  That’s me below.. happy, wearing red and about to drive away in my new Red SUV!!

Experts have long believed that color may have an influence on the way we feel and how others perceive us.

Interior designers select paint & accessory colors in an effort to stimulate certain feelings, while artists often select a particular palette in order to provoke reactions from viewers. Color psychology suggests that various shades may have a wide range of effects, from boosting our moods to creating anxiety. But could the color of items that always catch your eye actually say something about your personality?

The answer is : YES

For years, experts and scientists have researched whether or not the color of your car might say something about who you are as an individual or the image you might be trying to project. our color preferences often have a tendency to make a statement about how we want other people to view us. Other factors such as age and gender can also influence the color choices we make.

Check out the chart below to see what your car color says about You:

Blue: People often describe blue as the color of stability and safety. Driving a blue car or SUV might indicate that you are dependable and trustworthy.

Silver: It’s the third most popular color for vehicles and linked to a sense of innovation and modernity

Red: Environmental psychologists suggest that you might be a go-getter interested in projecting power, action, and confidence.

White: The color white can feel fresh and clean. “If you’re driving a white vehicle, you like to present a fresh, young, modern face to the outside world.”

Yellow: According to the experts, driving a yellow vehicle might mean that you are a happy person in general and perhaps a bit more willing that the average person to take risks.

Black: Black is described as a “powerful” color, which might be the reason why black is the most popular color for luxury vehicles.

Gray: The experts suggest that people who drive gray cars don’t want to stand out and instead prefer something a bit more subtle.

Of course, the color selections we make in many cases are influenced by factors including price, selection, & other practical concerns. It’s crazy but Color preferences change throughout time & may differ by region or vehicle type. The personality of the car is just as important as the personality of the the person looking to buy. The vehicle style, design & branding can have an impact on the color you choose as well.

For instance, purchasing a white vehicle might be less about wanting people to believe that you are young & modern & more about the climate you live in; people who live in warmer climates typically prefer light colored vehicles over dark ones.

As people get older, their interests tend to change.  Have you ever purchased a vehicle, and then after a few years, realize you don’t like the color anymore?  In the past, there was nothing we could do about this issue.  We were stuck with that car and car color for the length that we owned the vehicle.  But times they have changed..  Introducing 3M Color Changing Vehicle Wraps.

Anything but ordinary. Create a cool and distinctive look for any vehicle. These cast wrap films come in high gloss colours, matte colours, brushed metal and carbon fiber looks. True textured films that you can use right out of the box, no overlaminate is needed.  With vehicle wraps, the options are far more significant than even a custom paint job would offer. There are different colors, patterns and textures available to create the special look you want for your vehicle.
